Narrative Review (More detail = more helpful) BACKGROUND & GOALS: As a parent, I didn't have a clue about what to do in the college process. Our one and only daughter, a high achiever with goals and visions of going to the college of her dreams, needed direction and instruction on how to proceed. We met Tam Warner Minton for the first time when our daughter was a freshman in high school. When we met Tam in person, we quickly learned that she is an absolute expert in her field. She had so much knowledge and experience. As a freshman in high school, just from our initial consultation, Tam gave our daughter lots of direction on what classes to take in high school and what extracurriculars would be helpful to her. I knew our daughter was going to be in good hands with Tam. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: We were relieved and confident when we hired Tam to take our daughter through the process of looking for and applying to colleges. She helped our daughter learn about what you look for in a college, and also avoid choosing a college for the wrong reasons. She helped her find colleges that would really be a good fit for her. Through this process, I was undergoing chemo and radiation and I was unable to help my daughter at all. Tam did the whole job. She held our daughter's hand every step of the way... and there are lots of steps!! This gave me the peace I needed to focus on healing. Having Tam oversee everything involved relieved the guilt and concern that I would have otherwise struggle with, not being available to my daughter at such a crucial time in her life. Even if I had been perfectly healthy at the time, we would have still hired Tam. We had planned to all along. Her guidance, instruction, care, and TLC was invaluable. Tam has taken our daughter on a college tour trip to Boston, where they toured several different schools and had interviews as well. Trips to schools are such an important part of the process and I am so grateful that Tam took our daughter to Boston. RESULTS & FINAL THOUGHTS: Our daughter has completed all of her college applications and we are waiting to hear back from the schools at this time. Tam is planning another college tour trip with our daughter to the west coast next month. We are only a couple of months away from knowing where our daughter will attend college. This is a very exciting time and we could NOT have done it without Tam. She is a blessing and any teen that is fortunate enough to have Tam help them will benefit greatly! Narrative Review (More detail = more helpful) BACKGROUND & GOALS: I hired this consultant because as soon as I met her, I felt comfortable. In her home, meeting her family, having lunch with her before our sessions. I knew I wanted to go to a big school, but had specific school in mind at all. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: I worked with Tam the entire time. She actually made me look into schools and do research about them, which I probably wouldn't have done without her. RESULTS & FINAL THOUGHTS: I was admitted to all the schools I applied to. I enrolled at Texas Tech University, and Tam is the one that convinced me to even apply. I had no perception of the school before working with Tam. Once I applied Tam set up a visit to the school and I absolutely loved it. I never would have picked this school if it wasn't for Tam. Would you recommend this consultant or hire them again?: yes

Narrative Review (More detail = more helpful) BACKGROUND & GOALS: We hired a private consultant because we needed help getting through the maze of information out there about colleges. We wanted to find the right match for our daughter and were completely overwhelmed. We found College Adventures through word of mouth referral. Tamara Minton was very highly recommended by another of her clients. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: Tamara Minton. The cost was a little over $3000 and she helped with every single part of the process from college selection, admissions, financial aid, etc. The most valuable contribution is her knowledge of the school's individual personalities and her ability to get to know our daughter and match her so well. RESULTS & FINAL THOUGHTS: Lake Forest College, University of Arizona, Goucher. She enrolled in Lake Forest and loves it. It has been a life changing experience. Ms. Minton is the reason my daughter is there and it was the perfect match. Would you recommend this consultant or hire them again?: yes

Narrative Review (More detail = more helpful) BACKGROUND & GOALS: I hired her the summer before my senior year because I had absolutely no clue how the college application process worked. I attended J.J. Pearce High School, which is a very competitive public school so, I was always thinking about my grades, but didn't really have much of an idea of where I wanted to go to school...I just knew that I wanted to study music education. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: Working with Tam was so helpful. I had no idea how the essays were supposed to be written, what deadlines were for schools or anything. I was pretty lost. She steered me down the right path and helped to make sure that I got everything in on time. RESULTS & FINAL THOUGHTS: I was admitted into University of Denver, University of Miami, Trinity University, and Boston University and decided to attend Trinity University. She weighed the pros and cons, but supported my choice no matter what. Would you recommend this consultant or hire them again?: yes
